SUFFERING FROM ORTHOPEDIC PAIN? AVOID THE LOCAL ER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With COVID-19 expected to overwhelm ERs, Total Orthopedics Sports & Spine tries to alleviate stress on medical partners and patients

(McKINNEY, TEXAS, MARCH 28, 2020) Total Orthopedics Sports & Spine is trying their best to help out the local emergency rooms, along with the community by providing expert orthopedic care on an urgent walk-in basis, for same-day emergencies that require immediate care. At Total Orthopedics Sports & Spine patients will receive immediate access to Board-certified orthopedic surgeons and specialized orthopedic physician assistants for their urgent care needs.

“We don’t want our medical partners at the local hospitals to get bogged down with urgent orthopedic needs when they need to focus on their critical mission of caring for those with COVID-19,” said Dr. Steven B. Morgan, an orthopedic surgeon at Total Orthopedics Sports & Spine. “Our office has the infrastructure, experienced staff and equipment to help patients suffering from orthopedic injuries and issues.”

Before the recent COVID-19 outbreak, when someone had a broken bone, sprain, fracture, back or neck pain the emergency room would have been on the top of their list. However, in today’s environment people are trying to avoid going to hospitals in order to eliminate the risk of exposure.

“With more adults and children at home in self-isolation, we expect that there will be a surge of injuries that will require urgent care and we don’t want people to rush to already busy emergency rooms or worse for people to avoid seeking medical attention at all,” said Dr. Morgan. “We hope by taking on more of these cases, this will enable ER physicians to focus their efforts on critical care, while we treat patients in need of orthopedic expertise.”

Both Total Orthopedics Sports & Spine locations in McKinney (7300 Eldorado Parkway, Suite 165) and Allen (1125 Raintree Circle #100) have started accepting walk-in appointments, along with providing an on-call physician to answer questions after normal business hours.

Total Orthopedics Sports & Spine is taking additional precautionary measures and following guidelines recommended by the CDC to ensure the safety and well-being of their staff and patients, click here to read more about their policies and procedures.
